Obama was Senator for 3 years, a state senator for 7 years. He was the president of the Harvard Law Review, had 2 years experience as a community organizer, worked in the corporate world, taught constitutional law, and worked for a law firm. Plus he wrote two books. That's a lot different from a one-book author who has served for 1.5 years in the Senate, no other governing or political experience. Also Obama was 47.
