When I google this, the broader queer umbrella comes up, which is great, but I would like to know more about the environment for lesbians in particular, as LGBTQ+ friendly could still be dominated by another group. My DD wants LGBTQ+ friendly, but that could look very different from one school to the next. Anyone able to share some insights here? Also, my DD isn't overly political - so she's not looking for an activist bent, just a community.
If she’s worried about gay or trans men taking over the LGBTQ scene, she should probably go to a women’s college where women lead all activities. Or a very large school where even if they’re a minority within the community, there will still be a large number of lesbians.
There are trans men at HWCs. More trans men than trans women. I have a trans daughter, so it was something I paid attention to everywhere we looked. Not that I care. Just that I was surprised.
