There is a congressional report showing how Chinas subsidizing the creation of and exportation of fentanyl. It’s then shipped to Mexico and makes its way here to the Us. https://www.npr.org/2024/04/16/1244964595/fentanyl-china-precursor-overdose I haven’t seen a lot of press on this. How are our lawmakers putting pressure on china to stop this? So many people have died and so many families have been impacted and yet nothing is being done!
This is the plan of the Democrat Party.
Fentanyl started spiking on Trump's watch and he did nothing about it.
Bipartisan border bill called for more technology to deal with fentanyl at ports of entry but the Republicans tanked it. FACT: HR 2 doesn't even mention fentanyl and the only thing it even has to say about directly dealing with drug smuggling whatsoever is section 117 which merely says they need to review and update the section of their field manuals talking about drugs once a year. Completely pathetic fail by Republicans. Yet they dishonestly keep touting HR2 as the answer to all the border problems. What a lie. HR2 doesn't even mention the word fentanyl anywhere in it. Doesn't mention China as part of the supply chain. NOTHING. FACT: The Senate bill that the Republicans torched DOES. It contains 46 references to fentanyl, it would have imposed security, staffing, inspections and surveillance at ports of entry where fentanyl is coming in, it would impose sanctions on China, it would improve ability to go after the finances of traffickers, it would improve access to treatment to get people off of fentanyl. HR 2 does none of that.
Crickets... Republicans can't bring themselves to admit the TRUTH of it - easily verifiable. pull up HR2 and search the text for "fentanyl" - it's not there. Instead they double down on delusions and project their own failings onto Democrats. Trump and the Republicans killed a good bill that would have taken action on fentanyl. And their sham bill did nothing. That's an undeniable fact.
