We aren’t allowed to have phones out in a movie theater because it is distracting to others trying to enjoy the movie. Yes, the actions of other impact us all. So yes, phones are a distraction and that is why as a society we should put them away when appropriate - such as in school. You don’t want a bunch of uneducated people walking around?
