Here are the magnet bus routes for MLK/Clemente. Buses pick up students at home schools or in our case, public library, and then drop off Clemente students before dropping off MLK students.

DH convinced DC this evening to go to Parkland because of the Science classes. I hope DC doesn't regret this.

I’m in Gaithersburg and my oldest went to Parkland and then Poolesville (accepted both to SMCS and Global, chose Global+PLTW). Parkland has two science classes every year so the kids complete 6-8th science by 7th grade. In 8th grade they take a high school science - Honors Physics for kids also in Honors Geometry. It’s a strong cohort.

Regarding commuting - don’t overlook the public bus system. Kids ride free. My kid at Parkland took the public bus to Shady Grove metro for pickup during 8th grade when they had after school activities and couldn’t carpool. There’s also the 76 out to Poolesville for after school stuff. Those routes and times are just commuters. It was a good learning experience and independence builder until they got their drivers license to get to Poolesville on their own.[/quote]
