But how would you even know that the kid doesn't belong to both of them? My child is half black and she is very very fair.  When you'd see our family together, I'm sure you'd assume she wasn't OUR kid but she is. [/quote]

Really?  In this area (DC)? If I see a kid of a different race then parents, I assume they are with their parents, and may be adopted.  A wedding band, if I'm even close enough to see your band, is not going to move me one way or another.[/quote]
