Meanwhile, in Europe, co-ed sleepovers from age 14-15 are common. Nudity at home promotes body positivity. Sex at home between teens (behind closed doors) is considered to be the safest place to do it. Condom dispensers are everywhere. Teen girls can walk to their local doctor and get their own birth control and the appointment costs nothing. Sex education begins in the 5/6th grades and continues at the 8th and 10th grades. Meanwhile, in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave, we still have our collective heads stuck in the sands of religious purity culture.
Exactly, I grew up in Western Europe. There were 2,000 kids at my public high school in the burbs of a European capital city. Do you know how many girls had babies--this was in the mid90s- 1! That's how many, 1. A sibling and their SO had sex in sibling's room...I'll admit, one time my best friend called in a panic--her super catholic parents wouldn't let her have sex at home...well they had condom failure and she needed a safe place to take the morning after pill (that yes, she got no questions asked from the pharmacist) so she came to our house for the weekend...
