Mine has a 9pm bedtime and therefore gets approx 9 hours a night (which I still don't think is enough for a 13 year old) but she tells me that "all" her friends stay up hours later than her. I have seen texts come in after 10pm so I see that she's correct about at least some of them. I don't get why since they have to be up by 6:30am latest to get to MS on time. Are parents just not prioritizing sleep?
No normal 13 year old has a bedtime that early, My 11 year old gets up at 7:00am and doesn't go to bed until 10:00-10:30.
My 14 year old has a 9 pm bedtime on school nights.
It's almost still daylight at 9pm, That's way too early for a kid that age.
Per the CDC, the majority of teens (and adults) are not getting enough sleep. Teenagers need a minimum of 8 hours of sleep. 10pm to 6pm works if they are able to actually fall asleep at 10pm, but more than likely, they have been on their phones, and it will take them a good while to fall asleep. I'm a PP who stated that my teens have told me that a lot of kids in 1st and 2nd period are still half asleep. https://www.cdc.gov/healthyschools/features/students-sleep.htm
