Are there any High schools around here that do not crush their students with homework? I want to send my kid to that one. Please name your high school if there is a reasonable amount of homework or your kid is not staying up past midnight. I’m talking about regular classes, not AP.
It's not about the high school, it's about the right fit between the high school and the kid. And also not letting your kid sign up for 1 million AP classes combined with 1 million activities!
Probably also kid dependent. My SIL has two kids that both went to the same HS with the same teachers, and took very similar courseload. They also had the same high commitment EC. The older one used to be up until 2:00 AM doing homework and studying for tests. The younger one would come home and nap, and go to bed at 10:00 PM. The older one graduated with a GPA of 4.66 (out of 4.75), and the younger one with 4.58. Their school was undoubtedly tough, but the younger one said that if he listened in class, that was sufficient. That's just not how the older one worked.
