He needs to be able to develop a relationship without her baggage and interference. He has chosen the potential relationship over the friendship, and that is his choice to make. He doesn’t sound that committed to sobriety, IMO. Nor is he that committed to OP (nor should he be, she is married to someone else).[/quote]
