Both my sense and comments they have made over the years. And hearing them talking about other guys they meet who are around my age and how great they seem, but never any about DH.

No I don't complain about cooking or housework or anything. They've stayed with us before so they've seen how we do things. And they've asked me and I'm honest, but not in a complaining way.

So basically what you want is for your parents to love your DH for exactly who he is, with absolutely no help from you in facilitating a good relationship. And failing that, instead of just accepting who they are and appreciating DH’s merits fully, you are instead bothered by their lack of adulation? That’s completely naïve at best and frankly pretty unreasonable and shitty as a partner.

If you want your parents to like DH, then the very least you can do is point out the reasons you appreciate him. And if they don’t, then find a way to stop caring what they think. And if you are actually unhappy or unsatisfied with something about your DH, then own it instead of hiding behind your mommy and daddy’s disapproval. This isn’t your DH’s issue to solve- honestly I can’t even imagine having a partner who passively throws me under the bus and then complains about me being under the bus. Unreal.[/quote]
