GG are so popular in Savanah and Nashville. I was just in both places for work and noticed so many women still rocking them. I don't ever see them when I'm working out of our NYC office. My 15 yo DD was obsessed with the Alabama rush videos on TikTok. Almost every girl rushing on there did an OOTD that included GG sneakers.
I didn't even know what GG was until I saw those videos! I felt bad for the kids wearing them because I thought they were wearing old dirty sneakers because they were poor🤣. The only people I see wearing them anymore are some of the mom's in my kid's private school. But it's a very small minority of moms. And I never see them on the street anymore.
When are you “on the street”? The people rich enough to afford them aren’t on public transport. They Uber door to door or they’re rich NW DC and suburban moms driving lux SUVs
Wearing them on the street would reveal your prole and overextended. The fashionable moms who wear GG are driving Tesla Model X, Range Rover, Porsche Macan, or at least a new loaded Chevrolet Tahoe in the burbs.
There are no fashionable moms in DC. I say this as a mom.
Context, dear. The outgoing attractive wealthy moms who act like you’re irrelevant and invisible tend to be fashionable vis a vis average middle aged moms.
Acting like others are "irrelevant and invisible" is a sport in this area. Doesn't mean it means anything - nor does the person doing it. It is a facade for those who are actually insecure, irrelevant and invisible, and they know it, so they act out, accordingly. Secure people don't feel the need to act like a-holes.
Many commenters on here project their envy and resentment of the rich pretty cool moms at their kid's school, that much is clear. Those rich cool popular whatever you want to call them moms are still wearing Golden Goose sneakers and still driving their luxury SUVs which they seem to get detailed every other day.
