You like to tell yourselves that but acceptance is a composite thing, it’s the whole picture of the student. No student has ever been accepted or denied admission to UVA because of a single grade in a single AP class; that’s a coping mechanism people use to justify why they/their kid didn't get in when they believe others who are “less worthy” did.
