He was invited to a practice. That went well and he was invited to work out with them through the spring then play summer league. The school typically recruited players and DS wasn’t on coaches’ radar, so without having met the coach and gotten to work out with the team, I doubt he would have made the team since tryouts were pretty much a formality.
