Obama, by LESS than what many people here seem to think. Ryan seems to be more pragmatic (yes, I use that word consciously, even if I support Obama) and articulate than given credit for, and he may well destroy Biden in a debate.
I don't think there's any doubt about it. Biden seems very personable, a great dad and husband, and the kind of guy who would be fun at a party or sitting around watching a ball game with several couples. Tells a great joke but no match for Ryan.
Are you kidding? Biden was first elected to the Senate in 1972, when Ryan was 2 years old. He was reelected SIX TIMES. He's known as the big negotiator who has managed to seal many a bipartisan deal by working with both sides to come to a compromise. He served in Congress for 36 years, many of those on major committees and being one of the most influential senators of the 1990's and 2000's. He's been a long-serving member and former chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, a member and former chairman of the Senate Judiciary committee, and has probably forgotten more about US politics and government than Ryan has learned in his 12 years in public office. While he is young and charismatic, I think that Biden's more comprehensive knowledge will give him the edge in debates. This will certainly be a much more balanced VP challenge than Sarah Palin. That was embarassing for anyone not in the Tea Party to watch.
Also, all Ryan knows is budgets and numbers. Biden will wipe his plate with foreign policy.
