If Taylor flew commercial, the complainers would say she’s mucking up the airport traffic and making their flight miserable. She can’t drive all these places (which also causes pollution.) What do they want from her? She’ll probably piss them all off by planting 10 million trees next.
If you followed this guy's account, you'd understand that often what he is pointing out is wasteful use of these private jets. Things like flying the jet from Long Beach to LAX, empty, so that someone can take off from their preferred airport. In fact many private jet flights are run empty, with crew only, because the whole point of these jets for people is convenience. They'll fly from NY to Chicago to pick up a friend and then fly to London together. They'll stop in St. Louis for barbecue instead of flying direct across the country (doubling the fuel burned because of the extra landing/takeoff). His account documents stuff like this and lays it bare for people to see. I actually think this guy has successfully shamed a lot of wealthy people into more "responsible" use of private jets, because they know people are watching and will call them out on it. I think that's good. Private jets are an example of a private expenses that has a major public cost, and I think it's good for the public to know the cost so we can hold people accountable for it. It's almost like Taylor Swift's privacy when flying around the world in her private jet is less important to me than the death of planet, which can't be fixed by some empty publicity stunt. Hmm.
