I do think this will shift of the focus of the remaining campaign off of Obama's handling of the economy and onto a referendum, if you will, of the Ryan budget. particularly draconian cuts to Medicare. Not going to go down well with the old people in Florida is my guess.
As someone else pointed out, it really isn't the current seniors who are in the most jeopardy. Even if Romney-Ryan get in and can enact their changes, the changes to SS and Medicare will take at least a decade before benefits changes significantly for current recipients. However, the ones who are going to be affected the most will be the soon-to-be-retired or the newly retired...who are they? BABY-BOOMERS. So you have the single largest demographic group that is heading into their retirement, looking at augmenting their somewhat depleted 401Ks and other pension plans with SS benefits, and they are now looking at a candidate that is likely to strip their benefits. I think Romney-Ryan is going to bomb with the Boomers. And I think that only the staunchest, most conservative Boomers are going to vote for this ticket. Wish so many Boomers likely to be living into their 80's and 90's and needing at least 20-40 years of SSN and Medicare, I don't think they'll want to vote for possibly stripping their retirement benefits.
Boomers destroyed america and created the pipe dream called retirement. I wouldn't be surprised if they would cut out the throats of their grand children to support there selfish entailment and self indulgent attitudes.
Retirement was created in the 1930', and that predates the boomers because they weren't old enough to vote. We have been over this before. Are you impervious to facts or just like saying things you know are not true?
