To be clear, deferrals are not the same thing as the waitlist.

Most colleges do not rank the waitlist. Acceptance off the waitlist depends on institutional priorities, for example, they need a tuba player from Wisconsin, or whatever.[/quote]

But isn’t there a correlation btw all of these deferrals we are seeing and later long waitlists?
