DC employees already have to come in 3 days a week. The new policy mandates they come to work 4 days a week. As PPs have stated, non Union employees haven’t even received a COLA the past year even though the Feds have received 5%.

So DC employees had a pay cut the past few years because COLA was only 3.5% total in the past three FYs and they have to show up 4 days a week now and pay all the commuting costs that come with that. I wonder how valued these employees feel? [/quote]

This. With inflation and the failure to give a COLA, DC employees have effectively gotten a pay cut. Now they have to spend their money to keep the city humming while everyone else is working from home? Great for morale. [/quote]

DC citizens, who are going to lose a lot of great public servants who don’t appreciate not only getting scraps in COLA while inflation has been out of control for the past few years but being told they have to show up an extra day a week in person just to serve as ATMs for business owners who make a lot more money than them.
