I have many friends and sisters and colleagues my age, 45. I know a ton of women. Most are professional, affluent, healthy and happy. Many are diverse. All of them look their age. Many look good for their age. But they look their age. The only women I know in real life, not these DCUM legends in their own minds who I suspect may just be delusional, who look a decade younger in reality own medical spas, do Pilates, do laser facials, have extensions, microblading, and extensive work done and make themselves their full time job. The rest of you, you look 45. Trust me. You do. I myself look great. But 45.
Exactly! They look like 45 year old women who take are if themselves and haven’t let themselves go. Not someone who is 35, no matter how thin and fit they are, hate dye they use, how much they’re stayed out of the sun, Botox, tret sunscreen, etc. Ladies, you still look your age but just like you have maintained your appearance. At least to other women…I think some ( straight ) men may assume you are younger because they are generally simpletons when it comes to these things.
Yep. Agree with this. I'm 49 and live in NW DC. My kids attend two different "Big3" or top privates. I probably know 300 women in their 40s and 50s and almost all are affluent, trim, and have kept up with all preventative and corrective maintenance. They're all races and nationalities. I can tell you that 99.99% of them look their age--which I mean they look within the correct decade of their age or within 5 years of their age. Many look GREAT! for their age. But no one looks 30. They just don't. I don't---although I'm thin, toned, take estrogen daily and have great skin and no menopause body, good hair, light Botox. But I don't look like my 30 year old self. I have people all the time say "oh, you don't look 50!" but it means I don't look like their idea of a grandmotherly 50. Or their mom at 50. Because usually these people are in their 20s or 30s and when they think 50, they think "old lady in rhinestones and elastic waist pants and Christmas sweaters." That's not me (or anyone of my age these days) but it doesn't mean I look 30.
