Arlington and a lot of other teams rely on size and speed.  At the other ages, this doesn't work and they start losing.  You can't win at the national level with several girls playing up.  Eventually those players will be forced to play on age. [/quote]

At the national level, losing by a goal or two isn't indicative of much IMO.  If the gameplay was solid through the match then that's what really matters, there's often too much focus on wins and losses and not enough on the quality of play.[/quote]

Goals actually matter. As the kids age it is harder and harder to score because defenses start to play as a team. The offensive players have to break down the defense. To score consistently you have to have a midfield. ECNL and college do not play through the midfield and the quality of play is pretty horrendous.[/quote]
