None of that has anything to do with wins or losses.  If your daughter wants to play in college on a big school D1 team then she needs to be playing ECNL for the exposure.  It’s regrettable as the costs are high with the ridiculous travel, but that’s price.  Do it at u16 and u17 then drop off once your kid is set on a school.  But, you aren’t making an ECNL u16 team unless you have really excelled at a lower level, or have come up through the ECNL system.  It sucks but it is what it is.

Whether or not “team x” beat “team y” is completely irrelevant.  Are players learning, and are recruiting coaches watching?  No college coach ever said - “Golly, I like Susie.  She would be a good fit on my team, but Susie’s team lost to the team from Othertown.  Guess I won’t try and recruit Susie.”

Bravo. But this thread is a rant about a coach that could care less about his team because they aren’t good or winning. Canceling committed tournaments and showcases because they suck is not going to help their development.[/quote]
