No, you're just stuck in 1960. I work in higher ed. It basically is ALWAYS an option. If it isn't, the kid will figure it out and make it work. They don't need four years of "prepping" to potentially wake up for a class that might not ever happen for them. You are an "unserious" person. [/quote]

Nice try at what? Your singular experience in college doesn't make it a universal truth. I've worked at 12 different universities. Students definitely have more options than forced 8 am college courses. Again, if they absolutely have to take the class, they figure it out. [/quote]

Lol can you even read? I never said 8 am classes weren't a thing. Obviously they are. They aren't mandatory and MOST classes have several offerings. I even said if they absolutely have to take the 8 am class, they can figure it out. You didn't need to post various Tik Tok (who uses Tik Tok to get their point across though, seriously) links to tell me this. Actually read through the post you're replying to first. Genius, before you insult my reading comprehension skills, look back at your own. I NEVER said 8 am classes were mandatory. I said that you don't always have the option of avoiding them, and YOU insisted they are "ALWAYS an option" and insisted my viewpoint was outdated because I was stuck in the 1960s. I clarified that I found myself in that exact same position at UMD in 2001. You said you worked at 12 different universities and further doubled down that it's a choice. At this point, you said you that if they can't get out of it that they can just deal, which undermines your point about HSers being incapable of dealing with 7:45 am start times and your earlier insistence that college kids ALWAYS have the option to avoid 8 am classes.

So I went to TikTok and grabbed examples of kids experiencing and saying exactly the same thing I went through as an undergrad in 2001. I.e. that you can't always avoid 8 am classes. Which proves my original stance was not outdated.

So now, you can shut up and just move along with that talking point since you admitted that start times really aren't a big deal, since kids will adapt to whatever and that 8 am classes in college can be a difficult reality that college kids have to adjust to.[/quote]
