Don’t work there. It’s just an example of a company that pays great overall compensation, yet many workers seem to take it for granted. Same for other FANG and similar jobs. The people who work these jobs seem to think they’re a special class to whom the rules don’t apply. It’s time they’re humbled. [/quote]

I work for Amazon. I'm extremely confused why this person thinks an aggressive "up or out" culture and quotas for headcount reduction that even impacts solid but not outstanding performers has a bunch of lazy do nothings hanging around due to being home? Like...has she heard NOTHING about the (cut throat) culture?[/quote]

I am married to someone who works for Amazon and I agree.  High-stakes competitive places stuffed with extremely intelligent people won't have low performers flying under the radar. Those workers earn every penny. This is no way to live, but it's a topic of another conversation.[/quote]
