They may not have to.[/quote] Based on OP's description, they have to do a lot of work. I mean, honestly, nowadays, redoing a kitchen alone is $50-$100K. Bathrooms are $20K. OP needs much more work than that. Even if her husband's contractor friend gives her a good deal.[/quote]
