When there hasn't been a high profile shooting in upper Northwest in a while, they say "why are you talking about this, it doesn't affect where you live." When there is a shooting in upper Northwest, they say "Oh, so you ignored it when it was happening in other parts of the city, but you want people to care now that it's happening to you?" (see the posts about the shooting on Connecticut Avenue where people are saying this). There's no consistency, because they don't actually believe any of this. It's just whatever rhetoric they can grasp to try to shutdown any discussion about crime, even if they say the very opposite thing the next day.[/quote]
