Am I missing something? If OP’s kid “drops down” to regular Algebra II as a freshman, they’ll take pre-calc as a sophomore, and Calc as a junior. [/quote]

Now imagine how that child   will do in those classes, after burning out 4 weeks into Algebra 2.[/quote]
