Because she isn't into it. She had a very small flotus staff and did very little compared to past flotuses-- that's a clue. And most people wouldn't be into it. We have a weird expectation that political wives will be super involved. Meanwhile no one gives a crap about Kamala's husband. [/quote]

Because comparison is normal when establishing norms. People are saying Melania's choice not to be a stereotypical political wife is a problem. Yet, I wouldn't know Kamala's husband if he were standing in my doorway. We hold women to grossly different standards as political spouses. If Melania doesn't want to wave at crowds, let her be.
