If I go to bankrate.com and do the loan calculator - I get $11,283 in interest on the mortgage if we pay it off in 4 years, and $3,563 in interest on the student loans if we pay it off in 4 years. That’s the math I was talking about fwiw.[/quote]

That is because the principal is bigger. Omg. You have to factor that in. If you owe $1m at 1% and 10,000 at 50%, your interest will be higher for the $1m loan. That doesn’t mean you should take your first $10,000 and pay the $1m loan. Geez. [/quote]
