Yes, it is hard but no tougher than dozens of other schools. My best friend was an academic star at Wellesley. Yes, I survived but kids coming from ivy schools and big state universities like Berkeley were better prepared than I was. You have posted this anecdote previously in other threads. And while I don't doubt your experience or your friend's--which may owe themselves to the fact that Chicago is the original school where "fun goes to die" and that MIT is no less academically intense--they are at odds with the grad school experiences of other Wellesley women, including my own.
