Sometimes I’ll get a strong urge to call a friend I haven’t spoken to in a long while, and every single time they say “So funny, I was just thinking about you!” This happens to me often and with different people. I wonder why this happens.
Oh sweetie, they were just being polite. It's just something you say.
I don’t know… years ago I was in college (this was c 2002) and one night I was speaking with my roommate about an old friend of mine from childhood - I moved after second grade and besides a few letters we sent in the first few months after I hadn’t spoken with her in over 10 years. The next morning I woke up and checked my college email and I had an email from my childhood friend. Somehow she had been thinking of me and I think had asked another friend of ours from school whose mom was friends with mine and she knew I was at the college I attended. She sent a message to the student format email and it was correct! We messaged back and forth a bit through college and then became Facebook friends when that became a thing. That’s probably the biggest coincidence of that type I’ve experienced. Another, creepier one, was also my freshman year of college I was watching the old movie “An Affair to Remember” with my roommate and when the characters talked about meeting on top of the Empire State Building I commented that it wasn’t the tallest building in NY anymore. The next day was 9/11/01 and the Empire State Building was once again the tallest building in New York. It gives me chills to think about that.
