I am interested in this question too. I think both are crucial. The club is important for access to competitive games and teammates that can push you. But outside training is as important to keep skills development and agility and strength ahead of the game. [/quote]

It’s both. As Pp said, a player needs to have access to competitive games AND be able to practice with players that are similarly focused and skilled.

Outside training especially individual training is absolutely crucial. And that is the hardest to control or develop because it is a balancing act. Making sure a player is still having fun but developing discipline and consistency in training.

Finally - talent is of course partially something a player is born with. We all know there are kids who are born athletic, whether that be speed, strength, agility, quickness, etc and the desire to compete. A lot of this can be learned and trained but some kids are just going to luck out in those departments. [/quote]
