I think it's important to differentiate between national politics and local politics. Democrats have a significant advantage with every generation below the boomers - abortion, health care etc. But at the local level, democrats are a disaster - crime, restorative justice, absurd school boards. So I think that's where the tension lies. People generally like democratic policies at the national level. But they've come to despise the local progressives that are ruining cities throughout the country. Doesn't mean people are turning to Republicans. That's a clown show.
You're not completely wrong (although you missed that Dems are screwing up at the national level too), but people have to choose D or R. Crime, restorative justice, and absurd school boards affect my family's daily lives a lot more than access to abortion. To date, the most harmful political event that my family has EVER experienced was the prolonged DCPS school closures. So I recently switched from a DC dem to move to another area where I'm now a republican. I'm pro-choice, but I'll just pay to travel if my daughter ever needs access to an abortion that we can't get where we live.
I don’t believe a word of the above, but if I did , I’d remind you that all woman who can give birth are hurt by “pro life” legislation. That will occur to you as your daughter bleeds out and is denied healthcare. But you showed the school board! Take that libz!
