It is a beautiful suburban campus not rural. Winston is kind of funky with dive bars next to a sushi place next to a gastropub. The only issue is that there is not a lot to walk to from campus, need a quick Uber or access to a car.

Sports facilities are on campus such as gym, sports fields, etc. Only football stadium and basketball arena are off campus. Not uncommon when you consider schools like Michigan have their stadium off campus too. But both big arena/stadium are walkable or three minute Uber.

Students are nice but motivated as my student puts it. When you consider that a large % major in accounting, business management, pre-med type tracks like biology, yes there is a pre-professional vibe that may not be for your student.

Because there is not a big bar scene near campus the Greek scene is bigger than at some other campuses. Tough to fix when you are not UNC with Franklin street right there as an example.

Wake accepts 20%, 3600 of 18,000 past cycle. Yield is almost 40% which is impressive. People want to go there.

I would say this to close. Wake is in a small group of schools outside ivies and Duke for example, that offers a nice size at 5500 students, D1 sports in the ACC, small classes, and a nice climate. It checks a lot of boxes and I would say punches high for its size.[/quote]
