Potomac abuts Bethesda but when you get above $1MM provides about twice as much square foot of housing per $ and about four times as much yard space (which, amongst other things, obviates the need for a country house).   The appeal isn't hard to "get."   Particularly for people who aren't attracted by Bethesda's congested streets with 1950s split levels next to oversized "modern farmhouses" built out to within ten feet of their property line.   Different strokes for different folks, but it's kind of ridiculous to pretend that Bethesda is objectively "better" or that the appeal of Potomac is inexplicable.    Potomac has a higher percentage of Blacks, Asians, and Hispanics, so maybe the issue is UMC whites feel more comfortable in Bethesda because it reminds them of where they grew up.  But anyone who wants to understand how culturally minor-league DC is merely needs to explain that DC's equivalent of Scarsdale has fans  :roll: who publicly boast that it's a better place than DC's equivalent of Bedford.   :roll:    [/quote]
