Pretty much any thread beginning "Am I the only one who" or "Anyone else" is going to be followed by some unsuccessful effort to claim sophistication.

I know what it means. I had a grandfather. But who still uses that phrase? (Tip: in the phrase, "hit" is a verb, and thus can be either "hit" or "hits," depending on the subject)
