It’s bullshit, though. The Democratic Party is no different today than when she ran and was elected as a Democrat. That is the same speech party-switchers have been giving since the 1960s. Everyone of them switched because they were promised some position or status or cronyism benefits by Republicans. Most of them have short political careers after switching because nobody trusts them. Modern political parties are no place for moderates.  That’s the lesson.  The Ds are just as bad as the Rs about arm-twisting members into compliance with the party line.  When a member revolts, it’s not BS—it’s a big F-U for the arm twisting.  I bet she knows her political days are numbered, but she felt compelled to vote her conscience on these issues.[/quote]
