I've been a vegetarian for 30 years, since shortly after I moved to a Muslim country and saw lots of animals killed for Eid.

Livestock in all Muslim countries I'm aware of live a relatively humane life, and halal butchery is very, very much more humane than the factory process employed here.

The notion that an American meat eater, who daily gobbles down the carcasses of feedlot-raised, antibiotic-stuffed animals whose entire life is one of prolonged torture, would spout this kind of nonsense about halal butchery is really quite something.

The notion that people who eat meat and enjoy the fruit of industrial-scale factory farming cruelty would spout off about how unsightly it is that people might actually SEE animals slaughtered is deeply ridiculous.
