Usually the top schools don’t offer merit aid because they don’t have to - they can fill their classes with what they want without having to hand out money. Our DS received no merit offers from top Publics and Ivies but very generous merit offers from tiny colleges that you’ve never heard from because they wanted his ACT score to report to USNWR [/quote]
