Cathedral Heights. Walk to all the restaurants in Cathedral Commons area and now the new Wegmans area and all of its surrounding amenities. Walk to Georgetown if we’re up for a longer walk. Can also walk to Cleveland Park, but why would we - it’s run down and depressing. Close to Rock Creek Park. Can easily get to downtown, plus MD and VA. Nice houses to look at, not uptight like Chevy Chase. Neighbors are friendly, except for the one that lives next door to me - there’s always that one. Lots are relatively flat and spacious, most with parking.
honestly cathedral/mclean gardens is one of my favorite neighborhoods, especially now with the new addition of wegmans/tatte. such a nice mix of apartments, rowhomes, duplexes, single family homes, and condos. good variety of restaurants and businesses, especially with the area around both the cathedral giant and wegmans. you are even a short trip from glover park and tenleytown. plus the hiking trails nearby are so calm the rebirth of that area mirrors the decline of cleveland park. while one neighborhood welcomes new businesses and apartments, the other rejects them and then goes ahead and designates a parking lot as 'historical' to prevent new neighbors and businesses.
