Any Russia family not willing to be lemmings was liquidated by the NKVD (prior to the KGB) under Stalin.  Other “troublemakers” disappeared into the Gulag system of the USSR.  WWII took care of still others.

Any non-lemmings left quickly fled after 1989 (including millions of Soviet Jews, who reacted to Russia’s rampant anti-Semitism).

The SMO (war) caused even more non-lemmings to flee, including 70k computer programmers, along with an ongoing “brain drain” in Russia.

Russia already faced an existential demographic crisis. Putin’s illegal war is accelerating Russia’s demise.[/quote]
