Seems odd. This school was average twenty years ago and still has almost no representation for elite Wall Street / Banking / Consulting and elite Grad Schools. There are exceptions, but this seems all about Nashville hype and Tulane/u Chicago style marketing. Much better outcomes at many lower ranked schools.
Things change. College admissions is a totally different beast these days, There's ED, EA, SCEA, RD. I love MIT because they keep it real. No legacy preferences. Test scores required. No difference in admissions between early and regular admissions. It's an honest school. Best of the best. But for the other top twenties... eh. The smart kids don't bother with Harvard, Yale, and Stanford. Hopeless. Northwestern, Duke, Vanderbilt, Caltech, Rice, Notre Dame and the honors programs at state flagships are where it's at. Would totally take a Vandy kid over a Yale kid
Vandy takes a lot more kids test optional than Yale does.
True. But the ones that it takes have a higher 75th percentile than Yale’s 75th percentile. So there are definitely some very bright kids there.
