I'm not a fan of either party, both are dominated by their extremists. But to worry about GOP survival is weird. They came close to winning 2020 and won the majority of house votes cast in 2022. The GOP does have a bizarre obsession with extreme abortion rights (not quite offset by the Democrats' bizarre obsession with trans rights and cruel indifference to the border crisis and identity politics that is more divisive than healing). But you might ask yourself why the Democrats, if they're so much better, apparently, aren't blowing out the GOP in every election? I daresay most Americans would be happy for both parties to completely self destruct and start over from scratch.
Uh - no. I think Dems are, on the whole, doing a pretty good job in a pretty hard circumstance. I am not interested in blowing everything up and starting again. There's no both sides here; no, we all made mistakes.
Disagree. The Democrats own the border crisis. They stood by and did nothing as millions poured over the border. The Democrats pushed progressive policies in major urban areas that have seen a corresponding explosion of crime and murders and violence. The various infrastructure and stimulus bills definitely fueled inflation. They are the public face of highly divisive identity politics pitting people against people. They have a lackluster record of supporting basic concepts like freedom of speech or press (as the twitter files revealed), which, if anything, are basic rights the party no longer values. The cronyism between the Democrats and legacy media and much of the Federal bureaucracy is disturbing. The rush to support trans right without seriously analyzing the long term implications for children's wellbeing with something they don't fully understand has been unhealthy and unproductive. If you really want to understand why the Democrats are so despised by the 48% or so of Americans, try to step outside your bubble a bit.
Thank you. Totally agree. And, I would add to that.... foreign policy. It was a HUGE mistake not to have any debates regarding foreign policy. Biden has been a disaster.
