I’m one of the posters who thinks he ranges from personality-less with no oratory gifts to downright harmful and a demagogue. He’s no Batman, maybe a Joker. Hate to break it to you not at all one or even of of just a few posters here. People don’t hate him or obsess, but have huge contempt for his incompetence and active harm to the QoL and lack of empathy for dead teens and others. You don’t come back from contempt.
But why Charles Allen? What are the other council members doing? This seems like something produced, like, we'll get this rich white part of the city riled up and take it! So that the powerful people don't have to worry about our liberal political power here. IDK, it makes me suspicious, that Charles Allen, of all people, is to blame for carjackings and gun violence. I hate the crime too, but CA has some, not a lot, influence on what the city does about violence.
THIS EVENT HAPPENED IN HIS WARD. That's why he is being brought up on this thread. He's not being randomly singled out. We are his constituents and we are complaining about our council member's response to crime that is happening outside our homes. I'm not talking about other council members because (1) they don't represent my ward, and (2) this crime didn't happen in their wards. And he chaired the committee that wrote the stupid crime bill that has blown up into a giant clusterf--k on a national stage over the last month. "CA has some, not a lot, of influence on what the city does about violence." Are you freaking kidding me?
Didn’t you hear Allen today though? It was a highway event that just happened to be in Cap Hill. It wasn’t crime. It was violence for which he will ensure accountability, but seeing how he was on the phone to the police the whole night and fired all the cops plus they hate him, there were no cops left to catch the gunmen are still at large. No worries though, this way we save the steps otherwise needed in releasing them right back on the street immediately. Plus this was just a road rage that rattled the community a bit. Even it it’s happening every night take solace that the person who bricks you in the head probably has road rage. You are a POS, Charlie Allen!
Somehow they got the perpetuators to court immediatelely, where they were heard, but they looked like nice kids so there was no indictment. Sorry, CA!
