Sad thing is that once your daughter has that first drink in the company of a bunch of friends, she’s a target for assault. But you delude yourself into believing, my kid can handle it. Make sure you at least encourage your daughter to call 911 if she’s raped or assaulted in any way by acquaintance or stranger.
Catastrophize much? Better not send your DD to college because kids party together ALL. THE. TIME. News flash - most of them don't get assaulted.
What exactly you do imagine they’re doing after a few drinks? Playing cards? No. Without parents around, they’re doing what they want, especially the boys. Why do you think boys are so eager to buy girls alcohol? After girls had a little too much to drink, they aren’t really sure in the morning if they wanted to get penetrated, or not. Fentanyl is really the biggest issue because of the high probability of death.
DP. Do you have a DD in or about to go to college? If you do, how are you going to stop them from going to a party with a bunch of 18+ yr old boys?
My oldest is in college and they pregame before going to fraternities and will only drink a beer or seltzer that hasn’t been opened and they never put it down and keep the small hole covered by their hand. They always have one sober girl a night to navigate. Not perfect but they aren’t hard partners either. But beach week 24/7 it is much harder to avoid the risks.
