Chris Pratt is a tool and Katherine has a half-brother from her dad’s affair that she ignores. No one believes her life is perfect.
I think the subtext is the article is that she’s deluding herself. How often does her husband see his special needs child with Anna Farris?
I think the subtext of your post is you’re jealous and projecting your own unhappiness and disbelief that someone can actually be genuinely super happy being pretty, thin, devout and filthy rich.
I suppose you can be happy and also delusional by ignoring the reality of your life. It’s dangerous though, and hurts a lot of people, when this is portrayed as a perfect life.
But it makes her a perfect wife. I was shocked by the thread on the relationship forum, but this is what men want. A happy, encouraging wife without any problems who earns some money in a flexible manner that doesn't require DH to compromise his own career.
Yup, this is the new version of the Stepford/Donna Reed wife. Instead of a housewife who keeps a perfectly organized home and plans their entire lives and gets food on the table and raises their kids while also looking put together and classy, they want someone who does all that while also having a career AND bringing wealth to the table (family money, property owned before marriage, inheritance, etc.). Very realistic. (I know women often also have unrealistic ideas about men but my experience is that they become disabused of these notions much quicker and also tend not to hold it against their husbands when they discover he will never, ever live up to that -- I mean keep in mind Chris Pratt, despite being a successful film star and rich AF, is also divorced with some baggage and a tendency to step in it when it comes to public relations.)
