In the last 15 years or so NOVA has been the engine of job growth in the area. So much that areas far flung from DC like Loundon county has had significant growth and with it great property appreciation. MD on the other end seems to stagnate even under a republican governor. I'm not sure its going to improve under Wes Moore. I'm a long term MD resident and don't mean to diss it. But my property value in the most sought after area in Howard County has just stagnated over the last 15 years. Do you see hope for MD or is the gap just going to get wider? What about MD turns off businesses?
I don't know how your property value has stagnated- you're in Howard County - the richest county in MD and one of the richest in the nation. I live in Montgomery County and see no decreases in property values despite the economy and the interest rates which is crazy. And as far as jobs go, Columbia, MD was rated by WalletHub as the #2 best city for jobs after San Fran: https://wallethub.com/edu/best-cities-for-jobs/2173 Also, these are the 10 Wealthiest States in the U.S. in order with the wealthiest on top. Good luck on whatever you decide! 1. Maryland 2. Massachusetts 3. New Jersey 4. New Hampshire 5. California 6. Hawaii 7. Washington 8. Connecticut 9. Colorado 10. Virginia
