You keep writing this in so many threads, and I guess you're basing it on nothing more than the skyline. It's true that Virginia has lots of tall office buildings (with vacancy rates hovering around 25%), but I'm not sure why you think it is some sort of paragon of job growth. It isn't. Here is the data:

So Virginia had 2.48% job growth in 2022, versus 1.54% for Maryland. Great, Virginia is better. But news flash, both states were below the national average. Virginia made headlines for getting amazon's hq2, but not sure what other job growth you really think is going on in Virginia vs Maryland. The data don't back you up.[/quote]

Also, I'll add that in 2021, MD's job growth was 3.87% versus 2.83% for Virginia. So it doesn't even appear that there is any consistent pattern.[/quote]
