Those of you freaking out about a $1000 jacket are almost as dumb as the kids stealing them. You have no idea whether this stupid coat is marked up more or less than other things nor whether the additional base cost has any utilitarian or moral benefit. It’s just that since doing the research to really try to be a value conscious consumer is time consuming, unfun and probably impossible to do thoroughly at the end of the day so you’ve substituted the sort of middle price for everything as being somehow the smart and/or moral choice but really we have no idea.

I mean heck, I probably rack up the difference between a north face coat and a goose coat in a year by buying not the cheapest seltzer even though I know it’s the same. BTW you can buy the north face coat from “wantdoo” on Amazon for less. Not that it matters. [/quote]
