It's on the 2026 Blue boys team calendar: Supplemental Tryout Sunday, February 5⋅11:30am – 1:00pm The tryout will be held at either the Rockville Sportsplex of The Heights School depending on the weather. Boys NL 2026 Blue Created by: calendars@nextlevelspartans.com
Info from another board: I heard that the Madlax and Next Level 2026 teams are merging into one. NL got an email warning them new players would be at practice this weekend for an invite only supplemental tryout, and that the depth chart will be changing. No mention of Madlax.
NL run the other way if you still can and ask for that refund. Head over the river to TC or even Hammers much better environment.
Look at the recruiting at the 2023 and 2024 classes. NL and Madlax are the top choices and it is not close. VLC did OK and DCE OK as well. Hammers and TC irrelevant. HOCO scores do not matter for 2026 parents. your competition now is NY, CA, ATL teams and the key is attending the events where you would play these teams. Club ball is no longer about bragging rights in the DMV the score is not remembered. High school is what counts for wins and losses. Club is all about recruiting. It may seem like these teams are in flux but as players get older the good clubs will get the better players in the next year and when it settles out NL and ML will lead the recruiting game.
Those kids likely would've been recruited at whichever club they landed. They also got exposure at WCAC/IAC schools. These are psychotic parents who are now likely moving their kid to a third or fourth club. All you're doing here is giving money to another dirtbag club. It's your life, though. And for all you parents whose kids will be unceremoniously kicked to the curb in about a week, lesson learned. As soon as your checks clear your kid means nothing to these coaches, who do very little coaching at all. Your kids get better by working on their own, and also get developed by their HS teams. If/when they get recruited there will be some club coach who in the best case didn't obstruct their development and in the worst case actually hindered it, claiming credit for your kid's commitment on their club social media account.
